The Boston Celtics took an early lead in the NBA Finals on Thursday night, blowing out the Dallas Mavericks 107-89 in Game 1. Jayson Tatum led the way for the Celtics with 29 points, 9 rebounds, and 5 assists, while Jaylen Brown added 22 points and 10 rebounds.

The Celtics got off to a hot start, taking a 15-point lead in the first quarter. They continued to extend their lead in the second quarter, taking a 20-point lead into halftime. The Mavericks never got closer than 15 points in the second half, as the Celtics cruised to a comfortable victory.

The Celtics were efficient on both ends of the floor in Game 1. They shot 50.6% from the field and 39.3% from three-point range, while holding the Mavericks to just 41.7% shooting from the field and 26.7% from three-point range.

The Mavericks were led by Luka Doncic, who had 24 points, 12 rebounds, and 8 assists. However, Doncic was not able to get much help from his teammates, as no other Mavericks player scored more than 14 points.

The Celtics will look to take a 2-0 lead in the series when they host the Mavericks in Game 2 on Sunday night.
